Derrumbes' Mezcal 'Durango' is produced with the rare Durangensis agave, a variety indigenous to the area, in the remote village of Nombre de Dios. It's a spirit that tells the story of northern Mexico, where it is typical to use mixed material pot stills, made with both wood and copper. To the nose intense hints of summer fruit, such as peach, and hints of dried fruit are evident, then the scene is dominated by mineral scents. To the palate it is intense and clean, with herbaceous notes that fade into a slight, pleasant smokiness
