The Mezzogiorno di Morella is surprising. Like finding a Fiano cultivated in the heart of Salento on red soil. An excellent Fiano, produced with very low yields by the Morella winery, a splendid biodynamic reality that has managed to reach the heights of southern viticulture.
From a selection of two old Fiano vineyards, located directly in Campania, come the bush-trained clones in a plot near those of Primitivo, in Manduria. Red soil on a substrate of limestone rock with widespread quartz veins. After the pressing phase through the traditional vertical press, the must undergoes static decantation. Subsequently, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation begins in tonneaux and in cement, using only indigenous yeasts. The wine matures in barrel for a period of 7 months.
Visually, the Mezzogiorno has a bright straw-yellow color; it recalls the light that colors the vineyard on spring days. The range of aromas seduces with floral and fruity hints, combined with a background of sweet spices and marine nuances. On the palate, it confirms itself as elegant and balanced, fresh and mineral. It refreshes and at the same time envelops the sip thanks to its full and fleshy consistency. A truly expressive white wine, of rare elegance. Enchanting from the name.
