The Piedmontese red “Minetta” by La Bollina is a versatile wine, ready to be enjoyed immediately yet also capable of evolving over the next three to four years. Made from 100% Barbera, it is the result of a meticulous production process that highlights the care devoted to every stage by the winery in the province of Alessandria. A label where harmony reigns supreme, it is perfect for everyday drinking, also considering its excellent price, without ever slipping into banality, instead offering the pleasure of a truly satisfying daily wine.
This “Minetta” originates from Barbera, a variety widely cultivated throughout Piedmont. The vines are rooted in clay-rich soils characterized by marl, with south and south-east exposure. After manual harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed; this is followed by a cold pre-fermentation maceration, while alcoholic fermentation takes place at low temperatures in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The final aging stage lasts six months in steel.
The red “Minetta” shows a ruby color to the eye, with subtle purplish highlights, particularly visible at the rim. The bouquet unfolds with fruity and spicy aromas, enhanced by a vibrant freshness that also reveals delicate balsamic hints. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, round and enveloping, with flavors that perfectly mirror the sensations perceived on the nose. The tasting experience follows a balanced path where nothing feels out of place. A modern and approachable wine, whose visual identity—dominated by the bicycle symbol of the winery’s labels—is also attractive and striking.
