Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 'Testarossa' Riserva Pasetti 2021

The Montepulciano d’Abruzzo “Testarossa” is a wine that, more than others, represents the essence of the company philosophy carried out daily by the Pasetti winery. A family-run production reality strongly linked to traditions and to passing down, from generation to generation, the secrets of a terroir where the indigenous grape varieties of the area acquire a beautiful aromaticity and a well-defined character. Just like this “Testarossa”, a label in which the Montepulciano grape expresses itself at excellent quality levels, offering a drink of great personality and a symphony of enveloping aromas on the nose.

This Red Montepulciano d’Abruzzo “Testarossa” created by Pasetti comes from the pure use of a great grape variety, widely cultivated within the Abruzzo regional borders, the Montepulciano. The vines of this variety, whose average age is around 40 years, grow at the foot of the Gran Sasso massif, within a terroir mainly characterized by limestone and clay. The grapes, once harvestedduring the harvest phase, they ferment alcoholically in steel, macerating on the skins for 20 days and also undergoing malolactic fermentation. The process then continues with the aging phase, which involves three steps: first, the wine rests for 18 months in steel, then it ages for another 22 months in barrique, and finally, after bottling, it remains another six months to mature directly in glass.

The Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Testarossa Pasetti wine presents itself visually with a deep and concentrated ruby red color. The bouquet of sensations that outlines its olfactory profile oscillates between shades of ripe fruit and more spicy notes. On the palate, it is of excellent body, muscular, with a sip built on a strong and well-crafted tannin, which envelops the palate with power and balance. A red with which the Abruzzo winery Pasetti receives excellent critical acclaim at the national level, reaching noteworthy qualitative peaks.
