The Morellino di Scansano Reserve “Purosangue” is an intense and full-bodied red wine, aged for 12 months in large oak barrels. The bouquet is rich and layered, with hints of sour cherries combined with notes of wild spices, rhubarb, and licorice. On the palate, it reveals itself as soft, round, structured, and persistent. To be savored in the prestigious and refined Magnum format!

The Morellino di Scansano Magnum Riserva “Purosangue” by Terenzi is a pure Sangiovese produced in the wonderful natural setting of the Tuscan Maremma countryside. The vineyards are cultivated in a still wild and unspoiled context, between the first hilly ridges and the sea. Here, Sangiovese expresses itself with a sunny and Mediterranean face, with extraordinary ripeness and fruit intensity. The aging in large barrels preserves the varietal profile of the great Tuscan grape without covering it with woody notes, but enriching the bouquet with elegant tertiary evolving notes.

The Terenzi Morellino di Scansano Riserva “Purosangue” comes to life in the estate owned by the winery, a productive reality born in 2001 in the locality of Montedonico di Scansano, with the intent to produce great bottles in Maremma. The estate extends over a total of 150 hectares, of which about 60 are planted with vines. The vineyards are divided into various parcels: Cerreto Piano, Crognoleta, Madre Chiesa, Montedonico, and Salaioli. They represent the most vocated areas of the estate, where each grape has found the most suitable place to be cultivated. Sangiovese has been planted on soils rich in skeleton, characterized by the presence of coarse sands and clays, and the rows are managed with a spurred cordon. At the end of the harvest, the grapes are destemmed and crushed, which are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel containers, with a maceration on the skins of a couple of weeks. The wine rests in large barrels for 12 months and finishes its aging with at least 6 months in the bottle.

The “Purosangue” from Terenzi winery is a beautiful interpretation of Sangiovese in a Maremma style. A sunny and harmonious wine pleasant to drink young, but which also has a great aging potential. It presents a ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it releases a bouquet with aromas of ripe cherry, small red fruits, wild herbs of the Mediterranean scrub, licorice, and delicate spices. The sip is balanced, with well-matured fruit, a fine tannic structure, a finish of pleasant freshness and good aromatic persistence that recalls the sunny and convivial wonderful Maremma land. A prestigious Magnum format to be enjoyed until the last drop to savor every nuance!
