The Moscato d'Asti 'Bosc d'la Rei' by Batasiolo is a sparkling dessert wine that stands out for its unmistakable aromatic scents. This Moscato d'Asti has a very distinctive feature as it is made from grapes grown in the Barolo area, outside the traditional production zone of Moscato d'Asti. In particular, the bunches come from the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba, precisely from the cru of Boscareto, a plot from which the label's name originates.
Batasiolo Moscato d'Asti 'Bosc d'la Rei' is produced solely with Moscato Bianco grapes grown in soils rich in clay and limestone. The harvest is done by hand during the first half of September and is followed by the operation of destemming the bunches. The grapes then undergo a cold skin maceration of 24-48 hours directly in the press, with the must obtained from the soft pressing being cooled to 0 °C and kept cold until a month before the sparkling process. This operation is carried out directly in autoclave through a slow fermentation until reaching 5.5% alcohol by volume, at which point the fermentation process is stopped by a rapid drop in temperature. The wine is then bottled with its residual sugar under isobaric conditions.
The 'Bosc d'la Rei' Moscato d'Asti by Batasiolo has a bright straw yellow color. The nose is gentle with its intense aromatic hints of peach, apricot, white-fleshed fruit, candied citrus, acacia honey, and orange blossom, with notes of dried fig framing it. On the palate, the not excessive sweetness is accompanied by a wide freshness even more accentuated by the lively and creamy effervescence. In the finish, very light and smooth, the typical fruity and floral sensations of Moscato return.
