Nebbiolo 'Gavarini' Elio Grasso 2024
The Nebbiolo by Elio Grassi is a simple and refined expression of the Langhe that ferments and ages in steel tanks. The bouquet is fragrant with berries, violets, and black spices, the taste is juicy, smooth, and highly drinkable, animated by an intoxicating freshness
The Nebbiolo “Gavarini” from the Elio Grasso winery is a simple and refined red, an expression of a breathtaking territory, that of the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. Nebbiolo has always been the king of grape varieties in this region, managing to produce results that are difficult to replicate in other areas outside of Piemonte. This expression tells the story of a winery that has become a landmark in the area, through the production of high-quality reds.
The “Gavarini” Nebbiolo is a red produced from Nebbiolo grapes coming from 2.5 hectares of south-facing vineyards located in the territory of Monforte d’Alba. The vineyards reach an altitude of about 350-380 meters and are cultivated using the typical Guyot system on medium-textured calcareous soils tending towards clayey. The winemaking process begins with alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature with frequent daily pump-overs. It is then aged for several months in steel containers inox. Once bottled, it continues its refinement until the month following the harvest before being marketed.
The Nebbiolo Elio Grasso presents itself with a ruby red color with violet reflections. On the nose, it releases aromas of crunchy red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, dried flowers, violet, and a slight hint of black pepper. On the palate, it is very pleasant, juicy, clean, with good freshness and a long, fruity finish. A highly gastronomic juice from Piemonte, to try with local cured meats and salami or, more generally, with meat dishes. The fresher and more direct version of the queen of grapes from Piemonte.
