The Nebbiolo "No Name" by Borgogno is a Piedmontese red that combines structure with finesse, in a sip that is balanced and harmonious. Nebbiolo, the reference grape for Piedmontese viticulture, expresses itself with a classic and varietal profile, perfect to drink at the table especially with red meats such as roasts, skewers, and grilled preparations, as well as with game. A label that rightly deserves its place in the cellar of all enthusiasts of Northern Italian reds.
This Borgogno "No Name" is a pure Nebbiolo that comes from vineyards located near the municipality of Barolo, exposed to the south, southeast, and southwest. The terroir in these areas consists of a marl, limestone, and clay subsoil. The must obtained from pressing the grapes begins fermentation spontaneously thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts for about 2 weeks, then macerating for another 10-20 days. The final refinement follows, in which the wine rests for 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. At the end of maturation, the wine is ready to be bottled and put on the market.
The Nebbiolo "No Name" Borgogno develops visually with a ruby red color, endowed with a beautiful brightness and some reflections slightly tending towards garnet. Wide and diversified is the profile of aromas on the nose, where the classic notes of violets and small red berry fruits are perceived, along with slight hints of aromatic herbs. On the palate, it has a concentrated body, with a sip that releases freshness and sapidity through a fine drink, in which the tannin is well integrated into the overall structure. The "No Name" is thus named by Borgogno to reflect on the excess bureaucracy that afflicts the world of wine and agriculture in Italy.
