Callmewine's Favourites
Organic and biodynamicThe Nebbiolo "Vigna Lirano" is born from Enrico Rivetto's desire to "bring back to life" the ancient techniques of winemaking and aging in terracotta amphorae. A red wine thus with a strong connection to the past, characterized by a deep, pure, and fresh profile, enriched by a bouquet of violet, small red fruits, and hints of spices.
The Nebbiolo "Vigna Lirano" from the Piedmontese winery Rivetto is a wine with a craftsmanship character, produced in the Langhe with the symbol grape of the territory. It is an atypical and original red, the result of the desire to create a sincere and direct expression, inspired by ancient winemaking practices. The vinification of the grapes takes place in terracotta, a neutral material that, while allowing a slight oxygenation compared to steel, preserves the varietal profile of the grapes completely intact.
The "Vigna Lirano" Nebbiolo is produced by one of the most interesting artisanal realities in the Langhe. Rivetto cultivates its vineyards in the prized border area between the territories of Serralunga d'Alba and Barolo, on particularly valuable and vocated lands. Among the rows, the principles of organic farming are followed in full respect of the plants and their natural balance, without any forcing. A journey that began in 2009, which led to certification in 2013 and continued with the introduction of biodynamic practices. The Nebbiolo Rivetto perfectly expresses the philosophy of the winery, which from vineyard to bottle, seeks to give maximum space to nature without interference. It is a genuine wine, inspired by the best tradition of wine from the past, filtered through the culture and knowledge of a great vigneron.
The Nebbiolo Rivetto wine is cultivated in the area between Sinio and Serralunga d'Alba, at an altitude between 350 and 400 meters above sea level, on prized calcareous-clay marls. At the end of the manual harvest, the grapes are vinified in terracotta using only indigenous yeasts and classic skin maceration. Matured in terracotta until bottling. In the glass, it presents a ruby red color. The aromas recall violet, dried rose petals, small red berry fruits, and delicate spicy nuances. The taste is harmonious, with a center mouth of fragrant and pleasantly juicy fruit, which anticipates a fresh and savory finish. A great Nebbiolo in its most sincere and authentic expression.
