Pietranera Marco De Bartoli 2024
ArtisanalThe Pietranera by De Bartoli is a dry aromatic wine based on Zibibbo, vinified with long cryomaceration and matured in steel and barrique. It is soft, intense, complex, and mineral, with fragrant notes of yellow flowers and citrus, typically Sicilian.
The Pietranera by Marco De Bartoli is a dry Zibibbo that captures the Pantelleria terroir, delivering bursts of sea and scrub. The De Bartoli family is a historic name in the world of Italian wine, having decisively contributed to the revival of Sicilian viticulture and the resurgence of Marsala, which was undervalued for decades by mass-produced wines aimed merely at quantity and the demands of large distribution. Although the production of Marsala has significantly contributed to the fame of the De Bartoli family, the expressions obtained from the vineyards of Pantelleria also reach extraordinary levels, with peaks of excellence in the production of Zibibbo, both dry and passito. Respectful agriculture combined with a deep knowledge of grapes and territory allows for the bottling of some of the most significant wines of the island, indispensable for both newcomers and long-time enthusiasts.
The white Pietranera is a pure expression of Zibibbo, obtained from grapes coming from vineyards over 55 years old that take root in the volcanic terroir of Pantelleria.and are cultivated with very low yields. In the vineyard, a highly respectful agriculture is practiced, minimizing human intervention to the bare essentials. In the winery, the process continues with destemming followed by cold maceration for about 24 hours. Subsequently, spontaneous fermentation at controlled temperature takes place, and aging for 6 months partly in steel tanks and partly in oak barrels.
The Pietranera wine presents itself in the glass with a bright and luminous straw-yellow color. The nose is extremely typical and territorial, with clear hints of orange blossom, apricot, white flowers, and iodine, which definitively clarifies the origin of the liquid. On the palate, the wine reveals itself as sunny and filling, developing in a continuous duet between fresh fruit and toasted almonds, and fading into a finish of remarkable persistence. Cornerstone.
