Pinot Grigio 'Unterebner' Tramin 2020

The Pinot Grigio “Unterebner” from the Tramin winery is the story of South Tyrolean finesse. A variety abundantly present in the underlying Trentino, Pinot Grigio here is enriched with a particular charm that comes from the territory. It is the result of alpine breezes, rocky soil, and significant temperature variations that define its aromatic finesse. The Tramin winery is located in Termeno, but the vineyards from which the grapes come are also spread across the municipalities of Egna, Ora, and Montagna. The soul of the winery is indeed the winemakers who contribute their grapes from their plots, mostly characterized by small sizes.

“Unterebner” from Tramin is made from pure Pinot Grigio grapes. It comes from vines with an average age between 10 and 30 years, planted in gravelly, calcareous, and clayey soils, featuring a porphyritic base. The vineyards are situated at an altitude between 400 and 600 meters above sea level, with a predominant exposure facing Southeast. The harvest is carried out manually, after selecting the bunches, towards the end of September. Once the grapes are pressed,grapes and the must is obtained, the latter undergoes alcoholic fermentation in wooden barrels and partially in tonneaux, where malolactic fermentation also occurs. Within the same containers, the wine ages in contact with its own yeasts until the end of August. Once bottled, it matures for another 3 months before being released on the market.

Tramin Pinot Grigio “Unterebner” presents a golden yellow color to the eye. Its aroma finely plays on notes of pear, hay, and toasted bread, against a spicy background of vanilla and incense. The entry on the palate is full and dense, endowed with a beautiful freshness. It is a wine with a rich personality, capable of captivating.
