"Phenix" by Geschickt is a Pinot Grigio with a bright copper orange color, due to the long maceration. The grapes indeed rest on the skins for a period of 30 days, before spontaneous fermentation by indigenous yeasts. Without any addition of sulfur dioxide, the wine ages in oak barrels for 12 months. An intense and characteristic flavor, rich in aromas of rhubarb, strawberry with citrus notes of grapefruit

The Alsatian winery Geschickt introduces the Pinot Gris 'Phénix', an original interpretation that stands out for its characteristic bright orange-copper color. In fact, Pinot Gris is classified as a gray-berried variety, characterized by pinkish-gray berries, and thus vinification with skin contact extracts the pigments contained within, resulting in the wine's distinctive copper color. This grape variety likely originated in Burgundy, where it arose from a genetic mutation of Pinot Noir.

The Pinot Gris 'Phenix' by Geschickt is a 100% Pinot Gris cultivated according to certified organic and biodynamic farming principles. The vines, with an average age of over 25 years, are rooted in clay-limestone soils of alluvial origin. Harvesting is done manually, and the clusters are then transferred to the winery where spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place in oak barrels, accompanied by a full 30 days of skin maceration. After the fermentation process is complete, the wine matures
