The Pinot Noir "Sanct Valentin" Reserve is an intense and elegant expression of Pinot Noir from Alto Adige, aged in barrique for 12 months. Berries, pepper, tobacco, and aromatic herbs animate the whirlwind of aromas. The taste is elegant, fresh, full-bodied, and balanced, with toasted and mineral notes

The Pinot Nero “Sanct Valentin” represents the qualitative pinnacle with which the San Michele Appiano winery interprets this widespread international grape variety. The “Sanct Valentin” line is indeed the result of a careful selection, where only the best vineyards are chosen, particularly those with a concentration of older vines, capable of producing rich and concentrated bunches. This Pinot Nero is one of the most important wines in the entire range of the winery, and is distinguished by finesse and harmony, elements that benefit from a silky tannin, extremely drinkable.

The “Sanct Valentin” is a Pinot Nero that comes from the pure grapes of the same name, cultivated in the surroundings of San Michele Appiano. The vineyards here are exposed to the southeast and southwest, and their roots dig into a subsoil characterized by morainic deposits and gravelly soils, with a good limestone content. The grapes, once harvested, undergo cold maceration, fermenting alcoholically in steel containers, also carrying out malolactic fermentation. Then follows the aging, carried out for one year in barrique, at the end of which the wine is ready to be bottled.

The Pinot Nero “Sanct Valentin” presents itself to the visual examination with a light and shallow color, reminiscent of the shade of ruby. The nose is developed and harmonious, entirely played on notes of small red fruits mixed with spices, with hints that also recall vegetal and tobacco nuances. On the palate, it impresses with great refinement, arising from a medium-bodied sip in which the tannins are finely integrated; it finishes with a long and persistent aftertaste. A label with which the San Michele Appiano winery perfectly manages to dominate a challenging and demanding grape variety like Pinot Nero, giving us a sip of excellent craftsmanship, as evidenced by the scores obtained both nationally and internationally.
