The Pinot Noir "Pounamu" by Vinultra is a red wine from the most famous New Zealand wine-growing area: Marlborough. Refines for 6 months in French oak barirque and expresses an elegant aromatic bouquet full of aromas of ripe plums, cherries, raspberries, humus and smoked notes, while the mouthfeel is slender and vibrant, with excellent savouriness and freshness, with an enveloping and juicy taste.

The Pinot Noir “Pounamu” by Vinultra is a version of the famous Burgundy grape that originates in New Zealand, particularly in the northern area of the South Island. We are in the land of the youngest wine of the New World, which in just a few decades has proven to possess a climate and soils particularly suited for viticulture. Among the red grape varieties, Pinot Noir has found an ideal habitat to express itself at interesting qualitative levels, with bottles that can compete with those from more renowned wine regions with older traditions. It is an interpretation that especially enhances the fragrant and delicate fruity notes of the grape and its fresh, agile, and smooth profile.

The red Pinot Noir “Pounamu” is produced by a young reality of the interesting and dynamic New Zealand wine scene. The Vinultra estate is located in the Waihopai Valley and spans about twenty hectares, cultivated with the most famous international grape varieties. The area is characterized by a particularly cool climate, very suitable for white grape varieties and for a red grape variety with a particular character like Pinot Noir. The grapes used to produce the Pinot Noir come from three different parcels, cultivated on rocky and clayey soils. At the end of the harvest, the bunches are sent for fermentation in steel tanks, using only indigenous yeasts and the classic maceration on the skins. The wine matures for 6 months in French oak barriques before being bottled.

The “Pounamu” is a Pinot Noir made by the New Zealand winery Vinultra. The use of French cuttings and cultivation and winemaking techniques imported from the Old Continent have allowed New Zealand wineries to bridge a gap of centuries of traditions and history in just a few decades. The European savoir faire, transplanted to the distant islands of the other hemisphere, gives a Pinot Noir with a bright ruby red color and slightly transparent, which presents aromas of cherry, small red berry fruits, hints of underbrush and
