Primitivo 'Il Bruno dei Vespa' Vespa 2023
Perfect to drink every dayThe "Bruno dei Vespa" Primitivo by Vespa is an excellent intensity and structure Apulian red wine that presents itself with an intense ruby red color. It expresses typical and intense aromas of withered flowers, cherries, and blackberries with spicy notes of vanilla and white pepper, while on the palate it is full-bodied and substantial, with velvety and enveloping tannins, perfectly balanced with comfortable softness.
The Primitivo "Bruno dei Vespa" from the winery founded together with his children by television journalist Bruno Vespa is a fragrant and Mediterranean red from Puglia, with a soft and enveloping profile. It is the most typical version of the Manduria territory, which, thanks to a short aging in wood, manages to skillfully combine the dense fruity aromas typical of this ancient Dalmatian grape variety with the more evolved notes due to the passage in oak barrels.
The "Bruno dei Vespa" is a Primitivo produced in the heart of the Manduria territory. The name of the grape variety derives from the early ripening of the grapes. Although it has been present for centuries in Puglia, becoming a true enological flag of the region, it is an ancient Dalmatian variety, known on the other side of the Adriatic Seawith the name of Tribidrag or Crljenak Kaštelanski, while in the United States of America it is called Zinfandel. The winery of Bruno Vespa was founded in 2014 and is located in the Masseria "Li Reni", situated in the heart of the Manduria countryside. The warm and breezy climate can benefit from the sea breezes that surround the Salento peninsula, mitigating the higher temperatures. The vines are between 15 and 20 years old and are cultivated at an altitude of about 90 meters, on soils composed of red clays. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, with maceration on the skins for about ten days. The red rests for 4 months in French oak barriques from Nevers and Troncais before being bottled.
The Primitivo "Bruno dei Vespa" represents the entry-level label of the Vespa winery's wine range. The famous television journalist wanted to give his name to the wine with the most direct and immediate character, to emphasize the commitment to creating an excellentwine with a daily vocation. In the glass, it has an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it releases aromas of ripe cherry, blackberries, wild berries, vanilla, and soft oriental spices. On the palate, it has a fragrant and seductive entry, with silky tannins, rich fruit, and a harmonious and persistent finish.
