The Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Superiore Extra Brut “Ponte Rosso” by Collalto is a Vintage wine made to enhance the purity and freshness. The perfect ripening of the grapes and the rich, fruity aromas of the Glera allow for the sparkling wine to remain un-dosed, preserving its natural taste balance. It is a Prosecco Superiore suitable for those who love a vertical, taut, and saline sip, with a slender and elegant profile, without artificial sugary softness that alters its aromatic character. It is a perfect label to drink with seafood appetizers or with first courses of delicate flavors.
The “Ponte Rosso” is a Prosecco Superiore di Valdobbiadene produced by one of the historic names of the Marca Trevigiana. The Collalto estate has its roots in the distant Middle Ages and today cultivates a 164-hectare estate, producing labels that are always at the top quality of the denomination. The Glera grapes come from the homonymous locality Ponte Rosso, located near the famous Castello di San Salvatore, with a sunny exposure facing south. The peculiarity of this area is characterized by the presence of soils made up of red clays that are very rich in minerals, which rest on a rocky substrate. The wines from this area have a good structure, a notable maturity and aromatic intensity, making them ideal for creating an excellent zero dosage.
The Prosecco "Ponte Rosso" Collalto is produced with Glera grapes and small percentages of ancient native varieties such as Verdiso and Bianchetta trevigiana. The base wines rest in steel tanks for 3 months before being assembled in autoclave for the sparkling process and the second fermentation using the Martinotti or Charmat method. Visually, it presents a light straw yellow color with slight greenish reflections and a fine, continuous perlage. The bouquet is elegant and fine, with floral scents, orange blossom, aromas of apple, citrus, fragrant white-fleshed fruit, and hints of fresh almond. Clear and linear, it is appreciated for its salty and juicy sip, which runs quickly towards a dry and very fresh finish.
