The Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Extra Brut “Gerardo” from Le Colture is born from the meeting of new generations with the tradition of the Prosecco hills. The winery is indeed very old, producing wine since 1500 with ancient roots, the same as the vines that sink into the territory of Santo Stefano in Valdobbiadene. Today, the winery is led by the Ruggeri family, and this Prosecco bears the name of grandfather Gerardo, as a tribute to those vineyards that he himself tended and cared for with patience, passion, and dedication, as if they had become part of his life.

The “Gerardo” Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Extra Brut Rive di Santo Stefano is made from pure Glera, whose grapes come from vineyards located in the most rugged lands of the estate in Santo Stefano. The vines here are aged between 30 and 40 years, cultivated and planted by the family. Once the grapes are harvested, they undergo a soft pressing, and the alcoholic fermentation of the must takes place at controlled temperature in steel tanks, in the absence of skins. The second fermentation takes place in autoclave according to the Charmat method, typical of Prosecco.

The Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Extra Brut Rive di Santo Stefano “Gerardo” Le Colture has the brilliant appearance of an intense straw yellow and a fine and rather persistent perlage, cheerful. On the nose, it expresses varied facets, especially related to fruity notes, from the less pronounced ones of exotic fruits to the more pronounced ones of white-fleshed and citrus fruits. In the finish, hints of aromatic herbs and flowers also peek through. These combine in a balanced way with the rest of the bouquet. On the palate, freshness dominates, with the same fruity aromas perceived on the nose. The lively bubble makes it pleasant and captivating, with a persistence that leaves a sense of cleanliness on the palate.
