The red wine Quater Vitis is born from four native Sicilian grape varieties that together express a structured symphony rich in fruit, spices and freshness. After 10 months of aging in French and American barrels, it emanates an olfactory complexity of cherries in alcohol, berries, spices and licorice. The sip is soft, fresh, balsamic and has good tannins

The Red wine “Quater Vitis” makes it clear, starting from the name proudly displayed on the front of the label, how the Firriato winery wanted to engage in the creation of a complex blend. Indeed, four varieties of grapes are used, all native, to create a wine where the balance of aromas and flavors is admirable. There are various nuances that envelop the nose, while on the palate the tannin is well integrated. A label that encapsulates the essence of Sicily in a sip.

This Red “Quater Vitis” is the result of a truly territorial blend, where four native grape varieties, Nero d’Avola, Perricone, Frappato, and Nerello Cappuccio, are equally divided in the final blend. The vines of these varieties are cultivated within the Pianoro Cuddìa Estate in the Trapani area, characterized by a calcareous and clayey subsoil, and the Cavanera Estate on the slopes of Etna, a typically volcanic terroir. Once harvested, the grapes are vinified individually, fermenting in steel containers on the skins for 10 days, then aged, still separately, for 10 months in French and American oak barrels.  After that, the cuvée is created and bottled.

The “Quater Vitis” Red wine by Firriato presents itself with a compact and intense ruby color, with slight garnet hues at the rim. The nose is dominated by small black berry fruits, enriched with aromas reminiscent of spices, developed during the aging phase. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, full, round, with a wrapping sip thanks to the finely integrated tannic texture within the overall structure; the drink is pleasantly fresh. A wine that pairs well with all meat-based dishes, even stews. Why not try it with a sausage risotto?
