Régnié 'Tilleuls' Les Vignes De L'Amandier 2022
Artisanal
Exclusive wineryThe "Tilleuls" is a Gamay from Beaujolais with a generous character and good intensity that matures for 7 months in old, used oak barrels. Made with carbonic maceration, it reveals a streamlined yet complex body, with a good alcohol content but clear freshness, with aromatic tones of blackberry, woody spices and hints of red flowers
The Régnié ‘Tilleuls’ from the French estate Les Vignes de l’Amandier is a label with a broad and juicy taste, of exceptional drinkability, yet not lacking a certain structure. The producing reality Les Vignes de l’Amandier, which counts just 3 hectares of vineyards scattered in the territory of the Régnié cru, was founded in 2019 by Arnal Claire. The producer decided to leave behind her long career at the BRGM, the French institute of geological and mining research of which she was also director, to embark on this winemaking adventure in Beaujolais after attending a course in viticulture and oenology. The name ‘Tilleuls’ comes from the homonymous lieu-dit from which the grapes originate.
‘Tilleuls’ Régnié Les Vignes de l’Amandier is made from only Gamay grapes grown following the principles of organic farming. The vines are 50 years old and are planted in soils mainly composed of granite. Following the harvest, carried out entirely by hand, the bunches are vinified in red through spontaneous alcoholic fermentation and carbonic maceration. The pressing is done using an old manual press and the subsequent aging phase lasts for 7 months and takes place in oak barrels over 5 years old. This is followed by bottling and a further brief resting in glass before the final market release.
To the eye, the Gamay from Beaujolais Régnié ‘Tilleuls’ by Les Vignes de l’Amandier reveals a bright ruby red color. The aromatic profile expresses hints of wild blackberry, dark berries, and woodland spices, enriched by floral notes. Wide and generous the progression on the palate, warm and fresh at the same time, with well-integrated tannins. The epilogue shows great drinkability and vivid fruity returns.
