The “Repte” from Masia de La Roqua is born between the city of Barcelona and that of Tarragona, a mountainous and rocky area, with a beautiful and lush landscape. Biodiversity in this area reigns supreme, thanks to the coexistence of vegetation and animal kingdom that contribute to a solid and advantageous ecosystem for grape cultivation; only indigenous varieties are worked to enhance the prestigious territory in that area of Spain, selecting only the best fruits for a careful and quality production. The pure Sumoll grapes of the “Repte” from Masia de La Roqua come from plots of land situated on calcareous, clayey soils with a high percentage of active lime, a characteristic that gives personality and aging potential to the final product.The exposure of the vineyards is to the north at an altitude of about 500 meters above sea level; the latter is about 8 km away and is essential for moderate temperatures, even though there is a significant temperature swing between day and night that ensures good ripening of the grapes; good precipitation especially in autumn for lush and always well-irrigated soils. After the harvest, the grapes arrive in the winery where spontaneous fermentation occurs thanks to indigenous yeasts.
