The color is straw yellow with brilliant reflections while the nose perceives floral and fruity aromas. The sip is fresh, lively, crisp, and balanced
The Langhe Riesling ‘Era Ora’ is a white wine of slender freshness, the very first produced by the historic Piedmontese winery Borgogno in 2012. Since 2019, the entire production of the estate has been certified organic, and of the just over 40 hectares of vineyards owned, 1.5 is dedicated to Riesling Renano, a semi-aromatic variety with unmistakable characteristics. In particular, the grapes destined for this bottle come from the Bricco Bombè vineyard, located in the small hamlet of Madonna di Como, in Alba.
Borgogno Riesling Langhe ‘Era Ora’ comes from only Riesling Renano grapes grown on calcareous-clay soils at an altitude of 500 meters. Once the grapes have reached the ideal ripeness, manual harvesting is carried out, followed by about 3 days of cold skin maceration. After gentle pressing, the must is left to undergo static decantation in stainless steel tanks, the same containers in which spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place at controlled temperature. The period of ripening lasts for 12 months always in steel, of which 6 months spent on the fine lees. Finally, after an additional 2 months of aging in the bottle, the wine is ready for commercialization.
The Langhe Riesling ‘Era Ora’ by Borgogno has a straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The olfactory panorama is broad and peculiar in its hints of yellow fruit and flowers, aromatic herbs, grapefruit, and lime, combined with mineral puffs that over time shift towards the typical notes of hydrocarbon. Very vertical and crisp on the palate, with bright freshness and a fine savory vein that leads to a long mineral and citrusy finale. A typical characteristic of Riesling Renano is its incredible longevity, which is why the Langhe ‘Era Ora’ can comfortably rest for many years in the cellar.
