From our sommeliers

Kristinus' Kékfrankos 'Vári' is an elegant and complex Hungarian red wine. Made exclusively from Kékfrankos grapes, this variety is particularly widespread in Eastern Europe and is known as Blaufränkisch in Austria. The grapes come from the 'Vári' vineyard, which is trained using the spurred cordon method with 20-year-old vines. The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and fermented spontaneously in used 500-litre Hungarian barrels, followed by 12 months of ageing in the same barrels and bottling without filtration. The bouquet is reminiscent of black berries and spices such as black pepper and nutmeg. The palate is smooth, with velvety tannins, lively freshness and good sapidity. Perfect paired with vaddisznópörkölt, the typical wild boar stew
