The "Real" Reserve Red from Moschioni is an intense red wine with an authentic Friulian soul. It is made from indigenous Tazzelenghe grapes and international varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, aging for over 60 months in barriques and oak barrels of various sizes. It presents an intense ruby red accompanied by a fruity bouquet, with hints of tobacco, cinnamon, and licorice. On the palate, it is enveloping, warm, structured, and tannic, with a savory and fresh persistence.

The “Real” Riserva by Moschioni is an intense and full-bodied Friulian red wine, originating from the hilly area near the splendid village of Cividale del Friuli. Its name, Real, in Friulian means true, and it aims to indicate the authentic nature of the wine and its ability to sincerely and genuinely represent the character of the place. The wine is a balanced blend composed of a majority percentage of Tazzelenghe, an indigenous grape variety of exuberant freshness, combined with two noble Bordeaux grape varieties, cultivated for centuries in Friulian soil: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This combination creates a red wine of remarkable structure, complex and rich, particularly suitable for pairing with roasts or game.

The Rosso Riserva “Real” is produced by a historic winery, present for centuries in a very vocated area of Friuli. The Moschioni estate extends over about 30 hectares, with numerous parcels located on the beautiful hills of Cividale del Friuli. At the end of the 1980s, contrary to the customs of the area, the Moschioni winery decided to shift its production towards indigenous red grape varieties historically cultivated in Friuli, such as Tazzelenghe, Pignolo, Schioppettino, and Refosco. The vineyards are cultivated under organic farming regulations, with the intent to produce healthy and genuine grapes, an essential prerequisite to then create great terroir wines.

The wine “Real” Moschioni is a reserve red of remarkable personality. Usually, Friuli is thought of as a land of whites. In reality, there are many red grape varieties in the area, and among them, Tazzelenghe is one of the most interesting. Its name comes from the dialectal expression “taglia lingue” for its decisive and harsh character. It is no coincidence that to give harmony to the wine, the Friulian grape is paired with the elegant aromas of Cabernet Sauvignon and the typical softness of Merlot. At the end of the classic red fermentation with skin maceration, the wine matures for several months in oak barriques, then in large barrels, and completes the aging with a stay in the bottle. It presents aintense ruby red color with violet reflections. On the nose, it expresses aromas of berries, strawberry jam, floral hints, and spicy notes. On the palate, it is structured, with dense aromas and a tight tannic weave. The finish is persistent and very fresh.
