Rouge 'Saint-Esprit' Delas Freres 2023
Red "Saint-Esprit" from the Delas Freres winery is a red wine from the Rhône Valley, a blend of Syrah and Grenache. The destemmed grapes are initially fermented in concrete tanks and then transferred to stainless steel vats to finish with malolactic fermentation. The wine ages partly in oak barrels, and the remaining time in inert steel vats to best preserve the characteristics of the terroir.
The Rouge “Saint-Esprit” by Delas Frères is a French wine produced in the south of the country, in the beautiful Rhône Valley, an area with an undisputed exposure and tradition for the excellent production of wines of outstanding quality. The winery began its work in 1996 when Fabrice Rosset gave a new face to production, thanks to a reshaping of the equipment and architecture of the winery: new equipment ensures a more precise and careful work, but also more imposing for authentic and traditional wines. Today, the activity counts extensive vineyard holdings, but all calibrated in respect of the tradition and excellence of French wines.
The Syrah and Grenache grapes of the Rouge “Saint-Esprit” by Delas Frères grow on about 41,200 hectares, which include six departments of the Côtes-du-Rhône. The climate in this area is predominantly Mediterranean with a well-defined influence of the maestrale that avoids the presence of humidity between the rows; the rains are particularly frequent and ensure lush and well-irrigated soils. Solar radiation is constant and guarantees full ripening of the grapes. Once the manual harvest is completed, the grapes are 100% destemmed and fermentation takes place in closed tanks for about 15 days; subsequently, malolactic fermentation occurs always in steel tanks. It ages for 8 months in wood before being bottled.
The color of the Rouge “Saint-Esprit” by Delas Frères is an intense red with violet reflections. The bouquet of aromas recalls red berry fruits, violets, and licorice; on the palate, one perceives roundness, breadth, and finesse that gives uniqueness to this wine; the tannins are present but well integrated into the structure. It pairs perfectly with mixed cold cuts, typical cuts of meat from French tradition, and first courses with important sauces. A product to be enjoyed with friends during summer barbecues in rustic countryside locations or on the festive family table, sharing a product that brings with it the genuine and authentic flavors of the
French land.
