The Sancerre Rouge "Origine" is a red wine with personality from Pinot Noir grapes of the Loire which is aged in wood for 10-12 months. The bouquet smells of juicy red fruit, cherry, floral accents and mineral essences. On the palate it shows a medium intensity body, with an elegant and refined texture, supported by a pleasant freshness and a delicate tannin

The Sancerre Rouge “Origine” by Matthias et Emile Roblin is the label that best represents the face and typical characteristics of Pinot Noir from the Loire Valley. The Burgundian grape variety has adapted very well to the cool climate and predominantly limestone soils of the area north of Sancerre. It represents an interpretation of Pinot Noir in the sign of finesse and expressive freshness, very interesting for all enthusiasts of this famous grape variety. The aging in wood allows the wine to evolve towards more mature notes, without losing its varietal imprint.

“Origine” is a Sancerre Rouge that originates in the beautiful region of the Loire Valley. The Domaine Matthias et Emile Roblin is a family-run estate that manages a property divided into about forty parcels, which form a small mosaic of vineyards covering a total area of about twenty hectares, located between Maimbray and Sury-en-Vaux, north of the famous town of Sancerre. The vineyard is managed in perfect harmony with the environment. No insecticides or chemical pesticides are used, and the inter-rows are left grassy to promote environmental biodiversity. Thanks to the cool climate and soils of ancient marine origin, rich in limestone and fossils, Pinot Noir has found an ideal habitat to express itself with finesse and elegance. All winemaking and aging processes take place with the utmost respect for a raw material of excellent quality, with the intent of bringing out the varietal profile of the grapes and the mineral character of the terroir.

The Sancerre Rouge “Origine” from the small artisanal Domain of Matthias et Emile Roblin is a particularly interesting and successful version of Pinot Noir, in a land generally famous for whites. It is precisely the pedoclimatic connotation of the terroir that gives the wine a profile of great finesse, which will be particularly appreciated by lovers of elegant and subtle reds. The grapes are selected from vineyards about 30 years old, cultivated on soils of a limestone-clay matrix with the presence of silt. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. The wine matures in 600-liter barrels for a period of 10-12 months before being bottled. In the glass, it presents a ruby red color with slight garnet nuances. The olfactory profile offers floral scents, aromas of small red fruits, cherry, plum, and delicate spicy notes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with delicate and fragrant aromas and a fine tannic texture. The finish is of good persistence with a fresh and mineral closure.
