The Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru 'Aux Guettes' by Jean Claude Boisset is a fine red that comes from prized vineyards. Aux Guettes is a 49-year-old vineyard on complex soils of calcareous gravel and clay, facing south. This Pinot Noir expresses elegant aromas of wild pansy, raspberry and cherry, and a fine smoky touch that adds complexity. On the palate, it impresses with vibrant freshness, silky tannins and an enveloping sip. Ideal with red meats such as roast duck with blueberries or earthy dishes like porcini mushrooms sautéed with polenta.
