The Spumante Metodo Classico “Belle” by Ca’ Lojera is a Dosaggio Zero fresh and elegant sparkling wine, highlighting the interesting predisposition to sparkling winemaking of the Trebbiano di Lugana or Turbiana grape variety. A grape variety that actually represents simply a particular clone of the Trebbiano di Soave and the Verdicchio from Marche, sharing the same genetic heritage. One single grape variety with three different expressions greatly influenced by the different terroirs of origin. In the area south of Lake Garda, the Turbiana grape has found particularly suited soils and a mild, almost Mediterranean climate, mitigated by the influence of the large basin of the lake, allowing it to express itself at levels of excellence. The peculiar characteristics of freshness, even at full ripeness, allow not only the production of interesting whites but also quality bases for making sparkling wines using the Metodo Classico.
The Metodo Classico Dosaggio Zero “Belle” is a sparkling wine made from pure Trebbiano di Lugana grapes. The Ca’ Lojera winery cultivates the vines in the southern shore of Lake Garda, near Peschiera del Garda. The soils are characterized by the presence of white clays, rich in limestone and minerals, which constitute very compact soils capable of retaining water in depth even during the hot and dry summer months. The vines are cultivated in flat areas, with a density of 4,000 plants per hectare. After harvesting, the grapes are pressed and the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The sparkling bases are aged for a few months in steel before the second fermentation in bottle. The minimum period of aging on the lees before disgorgement is 36 months.
