Spumante Metodo Classico "Grosso" of the Paltrinieri winery is a Lambrusco di Sorbara in Magnum version, perfect for when you have guests for dinner. This label is made from carefully selected grapes and rests on its lees for at least 18 months following the principles of the Metodo Classico. The colour is bright pink with garnet hues while the fine and persistent perlage introduces decisive aromas of dried fruit and balsamic hints. The taste is fresh, savoury, harmonious and long

The Spumante Metodo Classico “Grosso” by Paltrinieri is a pure Lambrusco di Sorbara originating from the historic area of Cristo di Sorbara in the province of Modena, the heart of the production of this grape variety. The Paltrinieri family has been working these lands and its fruits for four generations now, precisely since grandfather Achille decided to dedicate himself to this work in 1926. The choice of the wine's name and the image on the label is particular: the grosso depicted on the label was in fact the first coin minted by the free Municipality of Modena and symbolizes the handover from father Gianfranco to his children Alberto and Cristina.

The vineyards of the Lambrusco grapes for Paltrinieri's “Grosso” Spumante are located on a silty and sandy soil, with a good presence of organic material due to the fact that it is a strip of land situated between two rivers, the Secchia and the Panaro. This type of soil helps to enhance the acidity of the Lambrusco, a characteristic that allows for the possibility of creating sparkling wine; in the vineyard no chemical treatments are carried out chemical treatments, but integrated pest management is chosen in respect of the natural phases of the plant's growth. The harvest takes place in the first week of September; the must is vinified in white and ferments in the bottle using the classic method; it rests on the lees for about 24 months before aging in the bottle for the following 6.

“Grosso” Spumante Metodo Classico by Paltrinieri presents itself to the eye with particular golden reflections and a fine, yet persistent perlage; the nose is filled with a heterogeneous range of aromas that range from toasted notes to those of dried and caramelized fruit, complemented by floral, balsamic, and resin notes. The palate is struck by an elegant savoriness and freshness that make it pleasant to drink. The ideal pairing is with fish dishes, light fried foods for aperitifs, and first courses based on risottos, but also with typical cured meats from the Emilian tradition. A Magnum version to be enjoyed during summer outdoor aperitifs with lifelong friends.
