The Extra Brut Pinot Nero Spumante "Molinera" from Vite Colte is a delicate and refreshing sparkling wine from Piemonte, coming from vineyards located near the Tanaro River, in the heart of the Monferrato Astigiano. Simple yet never trivial, given its smooth and lively personality, it proves to be the perfect companion at the table for appetizers based on fish, seafood, or seafood risottos, but its refreshing delicacy also makes it excellent as an informal aperitif, served well chilled to refresh oneself from the scorching grip of summer heat.
The Pinot Nero Extra Brut Spumante "Molinera" from the Barolo winery Vite Colte is obtained from grapes coming from the wine production area located south of the Tanaro River, in vineyards that are situated at an altitude between 200 and 300 meters. The soils in which the vines take root are varied according to the geographical position: always of marl origin, they are sandier in the northern area and rich in silt in the south, perfect for giving structure and aromaticity to the cultivated grapes. The Spumante Molinera is obtained through a soft pressing of the grapes, fermented in used wooden vats and refermented in autoclave for 18 months on its own yeasts, to achieve a complex and articulated "long" Charmat Method on the palate.
The "Molinera" Spumante Extra Brut by Vite Colte presents itself in the glass with a bright straw yellow appearance, with a consistent foam and fine, continuous perlage. The pure Pinot Nero gives it elegance on the nose, with notes of apple and pear flesh, apricot, and mixed citrus, concluding with hints of spice and fresh bread crust. On the palate, it is creamy and enveloping, with a delicate yet essential citrus freshness that, along with its dry and harmonious taste, cleanses the mouth and leaves you wanting another sip. The finish is slightly savory, persistent, and elegant: an unusual and informal sparkling Pinot, with great gastronomic versatility.
