Super Heroe Xose Lois Sebio 2018

The Galician Ribeiro area is home to the 'Super Heroe' Xose Lois Sebio, a straightforward red wine that is the child of the Viño de Encostas project, aimed at obtaining bottles that fully express the identity of the area. The rows from which the grapes come are located on terraces in the Gomariz area, unique for their steep slopes and characteristic stone walls. The name and illustration of this label symbolize a maverick superhero fighting against standardized wines.

Xose Lois Sebio 'Super Hero' Viño de Encostas is crafted from a rich blend of native grape varieties including Ferrol, Sezão, Caiño Longo, Bastardo and others. These are old vines, aged between 50 and 70 years, located between 150 and 350 meters above sea level and rooted on clay soils characterized by an abundance of slate. Alcoholic fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled open steel tanks, after which the mass is placed in 500-liter used oak barrels where it completes malolactic fermentation and remains to mature for 14 months.

To the eye, Xose Lois Sebio's 'Super Heroe' Viño de Encostas shows a cherry red color with purple hues. Aromatic spectrum described by floral perceptions of violet and fruity hints of blackberry and black currant that blend with vegetal notes and hints of pepper and sweet spices. The taste, elegant and direct, shows fine tannins, pleasant freshness and an intense and persistent finish that recalls the sensations on the nose. Red wine 'Super Heroe' can accompany different types of dishes, such as various meats cooked roasted or stewed, rich pasta dishes and tasty legume soups.
