Organic and biodynamicTerre della Baronia is a soft and enveloping red wine from Sicily made from Nero d'Avola and Perricone grapes. Notes of cherry, toasting, spices, and saline hints enrich a body of good intensity and structure, with well-developed tannins and a long-lasting finish. Organic Wine
The "Terre della Baronia" is an intense and broad Sicilian red wine that fully enhances the agronomic work done in the vineyards by the Milazzo team. It is indeed a peculiarity of the winery to want to only accompany, during vinification and aging, the path already traced by the grapes in the vineyard, intervening as little as possible. Only in this way can identity wines like this label be created, where Nero d’Avola clearly expresses its sensory profile, accompanied by a pinch of Perricone, which adds body and structure to the final blend.
This "Terre della Baronia" Rosso is born from a blend that the Milazzo winery team assembles starting from two native grape varieties, Nero d’Avola and Perricone, the latter present in the final blend with a small percentage. The vines of these varieties are trained using the spurred cordon method, and the harvest takes place during the month of October. Once harvested and brought to the facilities designated for vinification, the grapes undergo a cold prefermentative maceration for 1-2 days, before fermenting alcoholically in vertical steel fermenters for three weeks. We then proceed with the aging, during which the wine rests for 24 months in barriques, while a small part of the total mass ages in steel.
The "Terre della Baronia" Rosso wine presents itself visually with a beautiful ruby color. The aromas that envelop the nose tell a story made of notes of red fruit and flowers, enriched by spicier sensations, deriving from the aging period spent in wood. On the palate, it is full-bodied, broad, and enveloping, with a velvety sip, endowed with a good tannic component; it ends with a finish characterized by excellent persistence. A bottle signed by the Milazzo winery perfect for accompanying land-based menus, where meat is the protagonist of the table.
