It is made from a blend of Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon and is aged in used barriques for 12 months. The intense ruby red colour dresses the glass with a silky mantle while decisive aromas of ripe red fruit blend with sweet spices. The taste is soft, deep, fruity and very long.
The Red ‘Terre Forte’ is an internationally inspired label that stands out for its fullness and roundness, conceived by Domaine Moulin d’Alon of artisan winemaker Alain Cavailles. This production reality is located in the Aude wine region, nestled between the Pyrenees mountain range to the south and the Mediterranean Sea to the east, in a terroir universally suited for viticulture and thus an ideal habitat for a multitude of grape varieties, from indigenous to international. In order to preserve the well-being of the ecosystem and enhance the intrinsic character of the wines, Alain cultivates according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, while adopting a winemaking approach that excludes artificial inputs.
‘Terre Forte’ Haute Vallée de l’Aude Rouge by Alain Cavailles is crafted from a blend of Merlot (50%), Syrah (40%), and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). The vineyards, rooted in clay-limestone soils, are managed organically with biodynamic agricultural practices. The harvest is carried out entirely by hand and the bunches are first destemmed and then vinified in red with alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in wood. Subsequently, the wine is transferred to barriques for aging for 12 months.
Intense ruby red is the color of the Red Alain Cavailles ‘Terre Forte’, which on the nose is intense and full with its aromas of ripe red-fleshed fruit combined with hints of sweet spices. The tasting is characterized by power and density, as well as juicy freshness, soft tannins, and a long-lasting fruity finish. Due to its organoleptic characteristics, the ‘Terre Forte’ is the ideal pairing for succulent main courses such as the traditional cassoulet, a preparation based on beans and various meats.
