The Torrette Superiore from the André Pellissier winery is a fruity red wine with character from the Valle d'Aosta, perfect for pairing with delicious mushrooms. It is made with a blend of expertly selected Petit Rouge, Fumin, and Syrah and aged in wood for 12 months. The intense ruby red color reveals aromas of red fruits and spices while the palate enjoys a juicy, long sip with great balance.
The Torrette Superiore from the small winery of André Pellissier is a splendid artisanal wine, which faithfully reflects the characteristics of the terroir and of heroic viticulture, carried out with manual work on steep and rugged slopes. It is a mountain red, born in a property of just over two hectares, managed with obsessive care with the sole aim of producing honest and sincere wines, capable of bringing into the glass the unique personality of the great tradition of the Valle d'Aosta, one of the most vocated areas of the Alpine arc for viticulture.
The red Torrette Superiore by André Pellissier is made from Petit Rouge, Fumin, and Syrah grapes. The vines are cultivated in prized parcels located in the company’s cru of Torrette, in a rocky area between the castles of Sarre and Saint-Pierre. The property is situated at an altitude between 700 and 900 meters above sea level, with a south-facing exposure. The area is characterized by a very cool and breezy climate ideal for quality viticulture with low yields. The soils are terraced with dry stone walls and the soils are stony and poor, consisting of carbonate rocks and granite of ancient glacial origin, particularly rich in silica. The harvest takes place towards the end of September and at the end of the classic fermentation with skin maceration, the wine matures for 12 months in 20-hectoliter barrels and in French oak barriques. It completes the aging with a few months in the bottle.
The Torrette Superiore wine by André Pellissier is a very interesting red, which combines the aromatic power of the grape varieties with the slender and vibrant profile typical of high-altitude wines. It is perfect to serve at the table with beef roasts, small game on the spit, or grilled meat. Of a beautiful dark ruby red with slight garnet reflections, it offers a intense and fragrant bouquet with aromas of marasca, small berries, particularly black currant, wild blackberry, raspberry, and strawberries, delicate hints of spices, floral nuances, medicinal herbs, and balsamic herbs of the alpine flora. On the palate, it has a good structure, with a texture tight but evolved tannins and harmonious, crunchy fruity aromas. The finish is long and of remarkable taste persistence.
