The Verdicchio Riserva "Plenio" is born in the Torre vineyard, in Cupramontana, which is considered the capital of Verdicchio; East exposure, an altitude of 250/350 meters above sea level, and vines over 20 years old are the foundation of the success of Umani Ronchi's "Plenio", a Verdicchio Riserva that is hand-harvested in the first half of October to be fermented 60% in steel tanks for 10-15 days and 40% in oak barrels. The aging lasts 12 months, and here the wine, in the same containers used for fermentation, remains in contact with its own yeasts.
