Perfect to drink every dayVermentino "Tyrsos" is a Sardinian white wine with a fresh and easy-drinking profile that pairs perfectly with appetizers and fish first courses. Briefly matured in steel, it reveals all its fresh youthfulness to the nose with aromas of citrus, white-fleshed fruit, Mediterranean herbs, and marine hints. The sip is agile, slender, and smooth, with pleasant sapidity and pronounced freshness.
The Vermentino “Tyrsos” by Contini is the young and fragrant version of the wine symbol of the territory. It takes its name from the Tirso river, which runs through the estate in the Oristano area, at the center of the western coast of Sardinia. This grape variety, which loves the warm and windy Mediterranean climate, has found in this area the conditions to express itself in a delicate, fresh, and fruity way, with typical iodized and saline notes. It is a simple and smooth label, ideal to taste with appetizers or with a seafood menu.
The white Vermentino “Tyrsos” is born in one of the most interesting wineries in Sardinia. Contini has been producing wines in the Cabras area, in the province of Oristano, since the late 1800s. Always faithful to the traditions of the territory, it has focused on the historic grape varieties of the area, primarily on Vernaccia di Oristano and then on Vermentino, Cannonau, Nieddera, Caddiu, and other local grapes. Vermentino is produced in different versions, which differ by grape production area and aging. The vineyards of “Tyrsos” are located in the Alto Campidano, along the valley of the Tirso river, on predominantly alluvial soils, composed of sands, clays, and volcanic components. At the end of the destemming, a soft pressing of the grapes is carried out, followed by fermentation of the must in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16-18 °C. Before bottling, it matures for a few months in steel tanks.
“Tyrsos” is a Vermentino with a territorial face, which well expresses the marine and sunny character of the Oristano area. The choice of vinification in steel allows to keep the fragrance of the grape intact and to bring it into the glass in a straightforward and direct way. The Vermentino presents itself with a bright light straw yellow color. The aromas seduce with finesse and delicacy, with scents of white flowers, hints of citrus peel, notes of white-fleshed fruit, and aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean scrub, accompanied by iodized sensations. The sip is clear, harmonious, and salty, with a finish of pleasant and lively freshness.
