The Contini winery has been rooted in the Oristano area since 1898, set amid wild landscapes that plunge into the marine protected area of the Sinis Peninsula, where fine white sands plunge into a brilliant turquoise sea. Here Contini has been producing its bottles for more than a century, born out of the entrepreneurial and far-sighted mentality of founder Salvatore, who saw in the territorial typicality and quality potential of Vernaccia di Oristano, at the time the area's most celebrated wine, a concrete business opportunity. Flanked over time by other important productions such as Cannonau, the historic Nieddera and the well-established Vermentino, Vernaccia di Oristano has been the red thread of production for decades, collecting over the years several and multiple awards from food and wine critics.

After receiving a gold medal for his Vernaccia at the 1912 Milan International Exposition, Salvatore was joined in production by his son Attilio, who gained full command at the dawn of World War II. However, the commercial explosion of the reality took place in the 1980s, which succeeded in creating expressions of the territory faithful to the Sardinian tradition, modernizing the taste for a cosmopolitan public in step with the times under the leadership of Paolo, flanked by the latest generation composed of Alessandro and Mauro.

Now, some 50 hectares of the family's property stretch along the Sinis Peninsula, where the quality of the land is found in the glasses. The microclimate that includes mild winters and warm summers often caressed by the Mistral is perfect for the growth of specific varieties such as Vernaccia and Nieddera, which grow to their full potential on soils of pebbles and clays with sandy sediments. On the slopes of Mount Arci, on the other hand, there are another 50 hectares planted with vines where mild, rainy winters are balanced by dry, very hot summers, creating a microclimate totally different from the previous one that is much more suitable for varieties such as Cannonau and Vermentino, thanks in part to soils of volcanic origin. Thanks also to these territorial and unique settings, Contini's work is thus consolidated as a solid interpretation of pure Sardinian identity.

Vinifichiamo pensando alla terra che amiamo perché ci sembra di rispettare la volontà dei nostri antenati che hanno dato tutte le loro forze, tutte le loro capacità per insegnarci a produrre questi vini meravigliosi
