Vosne Romanée Premier Cru 'Les Suchots' Domaine de Bellene 2020

The Vosne Romanée Premier Cru “Les Suchots” Domaine de Bellene is a very important French red wine, synonymous with elegance and class. It presents itself with a certain complexity both on the nose and in the mouth, but despite this, it is fascinating to note how the production process from which it originates is absolutely simple: the fermentations are spontaneous and no sugars, acids or enzymes are used. It is therefore a bottle that is made solely from the attentive “listening” of the old vines of Pinot Noir, in a completely artisanal manner. A label born from the harmony of elements, which among its many qualities also has the ability to mature excellently, even for more than 10 years.

The “Les Suchots” Vosne Romanée Premier Cru Domaine de Bellene originates from old Pinot Noir vines, some of which are even 80 years old. We are in an area characterized by a calcareous and clayey subsoil, located about 250 meters above sea level. The grapes are gently pressed, and the must begins to ferment spontaneously, thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts, in oak barrels. The production process of the “Les Suchots” ends with a 12-month aging in oak barrels, 50% new. 

The Vosne Romanée “Les Suchots” Premier Cru develops in the glass with a dark and intense ruby color, at times almost impenetrable to light and sight. The bouquet of notes that come to life on the nose highlights a generous range, made of notes of ripe fruit alternating with clear tertiary hints where spices and wood are recognized. Full-bodied, it enters the mouth with a round and enveloping sip, which helps create a solid, fine and full drink. An elegant wine, in which the Pinot Noir from the Côte d'Or in Burgundy reaches a very interesting level of complexity. The perfect label to gift to lovers of French reds.
