The Domaine Sebastien Brunet presents the Vouvray Sec ‘Les Pentes de la Folie’, a Chenin Blanc of sublime complexity and pleasantness, with the energetic mineral signature characteristic of the territory. In addition to adopting a strongly sustainable viticulture aimed at respecting the plants, the soil, and the entire ecosystem, Sebastien Brunet applies spontaneous and minimalist enology, with the aim of creating wines that express the complexity and intensity of the Vouvray territory. The name ‘Les Pentes de la Folie’, literally “the slopes of madness”, refers to the fact that the grapes destined for this label come from the slopes of the vineyard “La Folie”.

‘Les Pentes de la Folie’ Vouvray Sec by Domaine Sebastien Brunet is made from only Chenin Blanc grapes grown under certified organic practices, without the use of pesticides and herbicides, on hilly soils consisting of a surface layer of clay and flint and a clay-limestone substrate. The vines are on average 80 years old and are exposed to full south. In cellar, the bunches are gently pressed and the must is channeled into old oak barrels of 400 and 500 liters for spontaneous alcoholic fermentation and subsequent aging of 8 months.

In the glass, the Vouvray Sec ‘Les Pentes de la Folie’ by Domaine Sebastien Brunet displays a brilliant straw-yellow hue tending towards gold. The aromatic spectrum is typical and articulated in its scents of yellow-fleshed fruit, citrus, yellow flowers, acacia honey, and toasted hazelnut that blend with vivid and deep mineral sensations of flint. Direct, fresh, and mineral sip, with astonishing persistence that lingers on slightly toasted notes. Vouvray is one of the longest-lived white wines in the world and this bottle is no exception.
