Vincent Wengier

The Domaine Vincent Wengier is a winemaking reality with a predominantly white wine character nestled in the territory of Chablis, at the northernmost tip of Burgundy. Vincent, who represents the fourth winemaking generation of the Wengier family, active in the wine sector since 1950, dedicated himself to wine production for 20 years, starting to bottle and market the first labels under his name only in 2018. The winery is located precisely in the municipality of Préhy, south of the village of Chablis, where Vincent and his wife Sophie are dedicated to viticulture with respect for the environment and biodiversity, adopting sustainable agronomic practices.

The Domaine Vincent Wengier cultivates 26 hectares of vineyards, almost entirely dedicated to the white grape varieties Chardonnay and Aligoté, with a small percentage of Pinot Noir as a complement. The plants are cultivated following the principles of organic farming, certified starting from the 2023 harvest, on Kimmeridgian soils rich in clay, limestone, and marine fossils. After the harvest, carried out with the aid of cutting-edge machines, the grapes are immediately pressed to prevent unwanted oxidation or maceration.cutting-edge, the bunches are immediately pressed to prevent unwanted oxidation or maceration. The must is then clarified using cold before alcoholic fermentation, a process that takes place slowly and gradually in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. This is followed by malolactic fermentation, sought to give greater roundness to the wine. Once the fermentation processes are completed, the wine matures in steel for 8-10 months on the fine lees, enriching itself with aromas and increasing its structure.

The production of Domaine Vincent Wengier falls within the AOC of Chablis, Petit Chablis, Bourgogne Chardonnay, and Bourgogne Aligoté, for an exclusively white wine production. These are fresh and mineral expressions, of excellent balance, also characterized by smoothness and gustatory agility.
