Maxime Blin
Located in the municipality of Trigny, within the Montagne de Reims area, the sparkling wine producer Maxime Blin is the protagonist of a remarkable production resulting from a vision focused on sustainability. For three generations, the Blin family has been at the helm of this winery, which holds the status of Récoltant Manipulant, meaning it vinifies exclusively the grapes it cultivates. In particular, the origins of the estate date back to the immediate post-war period, when the couple Juliette and Robert boldly planted the first vines. The baton then passed to Gilles Blin, who, with the help of his wife Madeleine, had the merit of expanding and elevating the business, refining the commercial strategy. Since 2015, Maxime Blin has finally been at the helm of the winery, supported by his wife Claire, who is also a descendant of a family of wine producers.
In its vineyards, entirely located in the Trigny territory, the producer Maxime Blin cultivates the three classic grape varieties of Champagne, namely Pinot Noir, Meunier, and, to a lesser extent, Chardonnay. The vines, managed under a certified organic regime, are planted on hilly soils composed of sand, clay, and limestone, also benefiting from an excellent exposure to the south and southeast.certified, are planted on hilly soils made up of sand, clay, and limestone, also benefiting from an excellent exposure to the south and southeast. The winemaking process involves an initial soft pressing of the grapes using a Coquard press and then alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with complete malolactic fermentation also taking place. Once the cuvée is prepared, the sparkling wine is then bottled according to the Méthode Champenoise, associated with long aging on the lees. The choice of the final dosage is then adapted to the characteristics of the Champagne in question.
The production of the Maxime Blin winery is divided into two main collections: ‘Les Fondamentales’, which includes the historic cuvée capable of fully reflecting the style of the Blin family, each maintaining a focus on a specific grape variety, and ‘Les Poétiques’, a selection that brings together Champagne produced in limited editions, resulting from an experimental approach.
