Aquila del Torre, also abbreviated to "At," is a family-run winery rooted in its host territory: the Colli orientali del Friuli below the province of Udine, which, scenically, represent a setting of bucolic, country beauty. This winery is a reality that sets itself the goal of transmitting its terroir of origin through respect for the environment that frames its vineyards, employing the techniques dictated by biodynamic agriculture to preserve the handicraft of its winemaking. Exactly in Povoletto (UD), the winery owns no less than 84 hectares of land, of which only 18 are planted with vines: the remaining 66 are left to the forest where various forest species grow, including hollies, oaks and hornbeams.

The reality of Aquila del Torre is now in the hands of Michele Ciani, an agronomist by training and a biodynamic winemaker by choice, who leads the management of the winery and vineyards flanked by his father Claudio, who took over the winery in 1996. Among these hills, the selected team of winemakers, who boast many years of experience, take care of the rows that rest on soils composed of rock of Eocene age with marls and sandstones with a predominantly clayey fabric that give the vines their territorial expressiveness. Here the most vocated varieties are cultivated with respect and gratitude, giving each vintage the imprint of Eastern Friuli: Refosco, Friulano and Sauvignon, just to name a few, express, thanks to the biodynamic technique, their most artisanal and sought-after characters, while also maintaining an extraordinary drinkability.

This is how Aquila del Torre is also able to bottle the passion of a winemaker who is devoting himself completely to the revaluation of his land, offering fragrant whites with character and reds of both freshness and structure.Indeed, Michele has at heart to convey an inherent message of respect for natural resources, as well as of safeguarding the land in function of the protection of the landscape. A strong willed personality, serving his land.
