With a two-century-long history, the Langhe winery Ascheri has one overarching goal: to create wines that reflect both the characteristics of the grape variety and vineyard of origin, as well as the productive spirit hidden behind the bottle. It all began in the early 1800s in the municipality of La Morra, in the Ascheri locality, where the eponymous family started wine production and devised a highly innovative trellising technique for the time, which became known as the "Ascheri method." In 1880, the Ascheri Cellars were transferred to the municipality of Bra, which at that time represented an important center for the spread of Barolo. Over the ensuing decades, up to the present day, the estate underwent a constant expansion of its vineyard holdings and a progressive further enhancement of its production. Today, Matteo Ascheri, president of the Consortium for the Protection of Barolo, Barbaresco, Alba, Langhe, and Dogliani, continues the family tradition.

The vineyards of the Ascheri estate are spread across several estates located in the noble areas of the Langhe and Roero. The Serralunga d’Alba Estate belongs to the former territory, characterized by altitudes ranging from 280 to 350 meters above sea level and marly-silty soils with the presence of sandstone and limestone. The La Morra and Verduno Estate, with its clayey and calcareous marl soils and altitudes of 310-370 meters above sea level, also belong to this area. In Roero, on the other hand, the Bra Estate is situated, where soils of marine origin rich in sand, gravel, marl, and limestone are found at altitudes of 265-305 meters. The cultivated grape varieties are mainly those traditional to the Lower Piedmont, namely Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, Pelaverga, Arneis, Cortese, and Moscato, while Matteo Ascheri's winemaking approach aims to minimize the use of technology, wood, and any additives, thus enhancing the winery's style and the character of the territory.

The Ascheri signature production successfully combines tradition and innovation, always in the utmost respect for the identity of the wines of Lower Piedmont, particularly Barolo, the flagship label of the selection.
