Borgogno e Carbone

The wine reality of Borgogno e Carbone represents a small artisanal treasure nestled among the hills of Verduno, in the Barolo area. At the helm of the winery are Fabrizio Borgogno and Stefano Carbone, passionate and inseparable friends who also manage the renowned osteria More & Macine in La Morra and a company importing French wines. The idea of producing wine is the result of the boundless love for the wine world that Fabrizio and Stefano share, a factor that, combined with the vineyards that Fabrizio's family has cultivated for generations, gave life to this beautiful project born in 2019. The first two vintages, produced in very limited quantities, were reserved exclusively for serving at More & Macine, where they met with great success. However, the duo's very limited production makes their labels still not very easy to find today.

The core of the varietal platform of Fabrizio Borgogno and Stefano Carbone is the Nebbiolo, a noble Langhe grape variety that the two friends cultivate in the territories of Verduno and Monforte d’Alba. The vineyards, partly very old, are planted on sandy-limestone and clay-limestone soils at an altitude ranging from 300 to 400 meters above sea level. All operations, including of course the harvest, are carried out by hand, the same artisanal approach adopted in the winery, where fermentations occur completely spontaneously in stainless steel tanks thanks to the sole intervention of indigenous yeasts. The subsequent aging phase takes place in large oak barrels, seeking a minimal impact of wood on the wine. The entire production process excludes any invasive oenological operation, in maximum respect of the purest characteristics of the territory.
