Cantina del Barone
Cantina del Barone is a small family-run winery on the outskirts of Avellino, in one of the most suited areas for the production of Fiano. The winery is led by the oenologist Luigi Sarno, oriented towards a characteristic and traditional style, capable of researching and enhancing all the specificities that the terroir has to offer.
The small vineyard property of Cantina del Barone is located on a hill at an altitude of 350 meters and consists of two small plots, separated by a dirt road: 2 hectares from which the grapes for Fiano Paòne are obtained and another half hectare in the cru Particella 928, replanted by Luigi according to an ideal exposure. The vines also include ancient ungrafted plants, rooted in a volcanic soil, very rich in minerals and skeleton. The vines are trained in guyot and cultivated in respect of organic farming.
Cantina del Barone produces two labels of Fiano, for a total of only 16,000 bottles per year: Fiano Paòne and Fiano Particella 928. They are
very typical and strictly territorial oenological expressions that, without dwelling on the more canonical and predictable notes of Fiano, offer intense, new, and original sensations characteristic of the terroir of origin. The vegetal and smoky stamp is the distinctive mark of the wines of Cantine del Barone, a unique and unconventional brand that impeccably synthesizes the peculiarities of this ‘locus amenus’ of Irpinia.Cantina del Barone is a small family-run winery on the outskirts of Avellino, in one of the most suited areas for the production of Fiano.
