Castello di Neive
At Castello di Neive, owned by the Stupino brothers, is located the winery of the same name. Neive is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, situated in the heart of the Langhe and surrounded by wonderful vineyards; here the Stupino family has its oldest roots, dating back many generations: father Giacomo, father of the current owners of the winery, leveraging his experience as a surveyor, decided to invest in wine production by purchasing the Castle and the best vineyards in the area: Messoirano, Montebertotto, Basarin, Valtorta, i Cortini, Santo Stefano, and Marcorino.
With great courage and significant economic effort, Giacomo undertook a major renovation of both the vast cellars of the castle and the vineyards, some of which were completely abandoned. The children have passionately and determinedly carried on the work started by their father, and today Castello di Neive has become a name of absolute prestige in the Barbaresco landscape, with a property of 60 hectares, of which 27 are planted with vines.
Thanks to the growing success of Castello di Neive, due to the quality of its wines, in 2012 it is necessary to build another winery, where all wine production operations would be transferred; the ancient cellars of the castle, with their dim light and silence, have been designated to store the aging barrels. Let us not forget that it was in the castle that the first experiments of Louis Claude Oudart took place, now considered the inventor of Barolo. From the Castle now come the fantastic Barbaresco of Castello di Neive, soft, warm, of great structure, which can convince and enchant even the most demanding palates and have made the name of Neive and Barbaresco famous worldwide.
