Cesarini Sforza
The renowned sparkling wine reality Cesarini Sforza has been committed since 1974 to the production of Metodo Classico sparkling wines that follow a single path: that of quality. Officially founded by Lamberto Cesarini Sforza along with a small group of friends, who gathered their family tradition, the winery has established itself over time as a reference point for Trento DOC, a denomination that has contributed to enhancing it by managing to combine significant numbers with stylistic refinement. The noble house of Cesarini Sforza arrived two centuries ago in what was then the Bishopric Principality of Trento from Parma, a place where it participated in the government of the Duchy. In Trentino, the family took over the leadership of the city for a certain period and began to cultivate splendid vineyards scattered in the area, a tradition resumed by the founder Lamberto. The zoning work carried out in the 1990s was fundamental, aimed at selecting and classifying the vineyards available to the estate. Since 2001, it has been the Gruppo La Vis, a large cooperative from Trentino, that manages the winery bringing its own experience and knowledge of the territory.
The varietal platform available to the Cesarini Sforza winery is centered on Pinot Nero and Chardonnay, the main grape varieties of Trento DOC. The vineyards are scattered in different areas, such as the high Valle di Cembra, Meano, Cortesano, Sorni, Pressano, and Besagno, heterogeneous territories for altitude, microclimate, and soil characteristics. As wine containers for the vinifications and aging of the base sparkling wines, stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels of various sizes are used, depending on the label in question. Instead, the sparkling process takes place in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico, as required by the production regulations.
From the so-called entry level to the most prestigious labels, such as Trento Riserva Extra Brut '1673' and Trento Riserva Brut 'Aquila Reale', the range of sparkling wines from Cesarini Sforza impresses with pleasantness and high quality, making this winery an ambassador of Trento DOC in the world.
