With passion and dedication since 1874, the Charpentier family has been committed to wine-growing while respecting nature and its cycles, with 5 generations passing on the know-how and love for the art of wine-growing in Champagne. However, the turning point for the family came in 1969 thanks to Jacky Charpentier, who 5 years later married Claudine Claisse, uniting the two families' viticultural assets. The village of Villers-sous-Châtillon, in the Vallée de la Marne, was chosen as the site for the estate, and over the following decades the winery gradually grew in quantity and quality, embracing new production techniques and not renouncing technological innovations. Today, Jacky Charpentier is assisted by his sons Jean-Marc, oenologist, and Marie-Pierre.

The vineyards owned by the Jacky Charpentier sparkling wine company, located mainly between the Vallée de la Marne and the Montagne de Reims, are managed according to a real sustainable vision, aimed at preserving the ecosystem and enhancing the expression of the terroir. With this in mind, interventions are minimal, manual work is applied, techniques are adopted to limit the use of treatments such as sexual confusion, organic fertilisation is carried out and, in addition, the estate is HVE (High Environmental Value) certified. The hand-harvested grapes are pressed immediately and gently, in order to preserve the freshness and quality of the berries, while vinification is parcelled, so as to have wines that reflect the non-reproducible characteristics of the vineyard of origin, which will then be blended in search of perfect balance. Maturation of the sparkling wine bases takes place in stainless steel tanks or in oak barrels of different capacities, and then the wines remain for long periods, from 2 to 10 years, on the lees in the bottle before degorgement.

The two qualities that form the stylistic signature of Récoltant Manipulant Jacky Charpentier are freshness and body. The moderate dosages are then aimed at not masking the varietal and territorial expression, resulting in Champagnes of great character and purity.
