Clara Marcelli is a winery founded in 1992 that has its historical and productive roots in the beautiful hills of the Piceno region of Marche, in the province of Ascoli Piceno. At the reins of this reality are Emanuele and Daniele Colletta who, rather than aiming for the spotlight and media publicity, have preferred over time to focus on hard work in the vineyard and cellar. Today they can boast of 35 hectares of property, of which only 14 are planted with vines and the rest cultivated with arable land, olive groves and partly woods. Thanks to the olive trees, the farm can also boast a small production of extra virgin olive oil.

The location of the Clara Marcelli winery is characterized by a unique and exceptional microclimate for the production of quality wine. The vineyards, located at an altitude of 280 meters above sea level, enjoy the breezes that come from the Adriatic Sea and the temperature ranges generated by the proximity of the Apennines. The soils are minimally clayey and almost entirely tuffaceous with compact concretions of fossil-rich sandstone. The production philosophy of the Colletta brothers involves creating wines that are as representative as possible of the potential of the land, with full respect for the environment in accordance with the principles of organic farming. For years they have relied on the agronomic and enological advice of Marco Casolanetti, of the Oasi degli Angeli winery, a young and talented creator of true and authentic wine expressions of the Marche terroir. The varieties grown are those typical of the production area, Montepulciano and Sangiovese for the reds, Pecorino and Passerina for the whites.

Harvests are carried out manually every year, after careful selection of the grapes already in the vineyard, so that only the best raw material is brought to the winery once it has reached full ripeness. Over time, the winery has grown and modernized by expanding the space and re-grafting Montepulciano vines, the clones of which date back to the 1970s, into the Rocchetta Vineyard. Today Clara Marcelli can boast a spacious, modern and functional winemaking room in order to bring to life an increasingly diverse range of products in line with modern palates.
