De Vigili

The De Vigili winery embodies the tradition of the great wines of Trentino. It is an ancient family business, with historical roots dating back to the early 19th century, when it was already trading wine wholesale in the region, selling directly in barrels. The dramatic events of the Great War, which saw the entire Trentino area become a bloody theater of fierce battles, the difficult reconstruction, and the Second World War, negatively affected the whole region, which struggled to recover and regain its former glory. The activities of the De Vigili family resumed slowly, but were limited to cultivating their own vineyards and selling the grapes to other important wineries in the area.

It was only in 2015, with the arrival of the young Francesco De Vigili in the company, that the winery rediscovered its oldest vocation. The generational change led to the awareness of being able to rely on a vineyard estate with remarkable potential, capable of producing grapes of excellent quality. Thus was born transported over the millennia by the Adige and the Noce. The two watercourses, before being embanked in the 19th century, overflowed and frequently changed their course, leaving numerous debris in the Piana Rotaliana. The poor and well-draining soils, the sunny climate, and protection from the Alpine chain against disturbances from the cold winds descending from the north create a microclimate particularly favorable to vine cultivation.
