Extillo
The very recent Italian brand Extillo enthusiastically dedicates itself to the production of artisanal distillates, gin in particular. This project stems from the creativity of young lovers of the spirits world who wanted to convey their passion into original and innovative products, designed for both mixing and sipping. Extillo's debut label is a fascinating gin made through artisanal methods from ingredients sourced in Italy. The name “Extillo” comes from the Latin verb “extillare” which means “to drip”, referring to the distillation process that leads to the gradual condensation of droplets that will then form the distillate.
The gin from the young production reality Extillo is crafted from Italian ingredients, such as botanicals gathered on Lake Iseo, in Lombardia, and salt crystals from the beautiful salt pans of Puglia. Additionally, to provide fresh and inviting aromas, citrus fruits such as sweet orange, pink grapefruit, and lemon peels are used.lemon, while the sweet floral aromas come from the use of chamomile and orange blossoms. Juniper berries, a fundamental ingredient for any gin, cannot be missing. All these botanicals are infused in agricultural origin ethyl alcohol and, after an adequate maceration period, distillation is carried out in a small 45-liter still according to the most laborious but qualitative discontinuous method. The production of Extillo is quite limited and each bottle reflects the care taken in every step of the processing.
The first product launched by Extillo is Salted Gin, an artisanal gin that is able to remain etched in the mind and senses for its distinct savory character, almost salty, determined by the use of salt from the Apulian salt pans. Fresh and at the same time sweet sensations of citrus and flowers add character and balance the sensory context.
